University of Northumbria Business Clinic Fit Out
Compass are pleased to announce the successful completion of our first project within Northumbria University. The ground level retail units have been completely transformed into a state of the art teaching facility. Compass carried out refurbishment of the flooring, new partitions and ceilings along with new heating and lighting systems which have been designed and installed to suit the new layout.
Rothbury First School
This project involved extensive structural and internal refurbishment of the kitchen, dining and function hall. The existing concrete portal frame building was strengthened along with a new roof and external envelope upgrade. We are delighted that these renewed facilities have become a valued and vital asset to the school and local community. Client: Northumberland County Council
Commercial - Office Refurbishment, 17 Princes Park
The contract comprised of the removal of all temporary structures to the existing ground floor and first floor mezzanine areas to form new office facilities constructed with metal stud partitions, boarded and skimmed complete with suspended ceiling, aluminium glazing, floor finishes and decoration to all surfaces. The project also encompassed the reconfiguration and upgrading of the mechanical installation which included an upgraded heating system, complete with new boiler together with new toilet facilities with sanitary ware and cubicle system. Small power and lighting was also upgraded and extended throughout the entire building together with all necessary amendments to the existing BMS and Fire Alarm Systems. The project was completed one week ahead of schedule within budget and with no defects.
Commercial - Siemens Bay Door
The works comprised demolitions, alterations and removal of existing structure and doors, modification of structural steelwork and cladding including head and jamb infills together with the installation of a new 10.00 x 11.50m Speedor Maxi within 7 Bay at South Side of the C A Parsons Works, Shields Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne. The Speedor Maxi is a horizontal vertically folding door, designed primarily for large openings or openings which are subject to high wind pressure. The door is automated to provide energy saving benefits. Speedor Maxi has exceptionally good wind resistance and can be designed for wind speeds of 115mph. All works will be completed to ISO 9002 including IEE regulations.
Housing - SFA Remedials, RAF Leeming
The overall requirement of the Authority was for the properties to be refurbished to Standard 1 for Condition, to extend their remaining life. These properties are to be used as Serviceman Families. All properties required underpinning, brickwork repairs and repointing, replacement lintels and significant refurbishment including replacement heating, plumbing and electrics and new kitchens.
Housing - Collingwood Court, Ponteland
Collingwood Court was a development of fifteen modern apartments on the site of the former offices of Gordon Andrews Architecture overlooking the Pont, adjacent the A696 on the western outskirts of the town.
Housing - The Chain Locker Residential Dwellings
The Chain Locker was a development to create sixteen unique and individually styled apartments on the banks of the River Tyne and the vibrant North Shield Fish Quay. At ground floor level there are meter rooms, cycle store and external bin stores. Two of the apartments are incorporated into the original structure of the 1905 Public House offering unique aesthetics and period features
